This is just a short post as I'm aware that lots of people have been clicking on this site. I'm afraid I'm not really very techie and I never have enough time to investigate all the solutions properly, but I just wanted to let you know that I would love you to read our story and to share your views.
I now write as Violets Diary and you can follow violet by clicking here.
Thanks for looking and hope to see you with Violet
Our World Is Your World
We are an ordinary family living with visual impairment and aspergers syndrome. We do the things everyone else does and we want to share with the world what is possible. We don't want to be judged or patronised - we just need understanding and support - but doesn't everyone?

My Trainers
A Poem by HMC
My trainers are clean, new and white
They won't hurt you, they don't bite.
My trainers are for running and for fun,
They are for dancing out in the sun.
My trainers are strong, my trainers are bright,
My trainers can be tied loose or tight.
My trainers are great, they are really cool,
They are absolutely ace for playing the fool.
My trainers can jump and they can stamp
But still you won't get any cramp.
My trainers squeak because they've got lots of grip,
No water will get in, not even a drip.
My trainers are comfy, warm and dry,
But now it is time to say 'Goodbye'
My trainers are dirty, small and old,
They are no longer very bold.
Can I have some sandals?
In these trainers my feet are as hot as candles!

The voyage begins
Well, here goes! a voyage into the unknown world of blogging!
We are a family of visually impaired people, with one child with aspergers. We live in exciting , but challenging times. Disabled people are more visible than ever within society and the prtrayal of positive images has increased over recent times, but the current climate of benefit and public service cuts is a serious threat to the independence, inclusion and equality of disabled people.
The aim of this blog is not for us to debate political points about inclusion, rights and equality etc. It is to share some of our experiences, positive and negative by using quotes, observations, thoughts and poems. Many of our thoughts etc have nothing to do with disability or politics. They are the happenings of an ordinary family.
